Allele e2 in Australian Cattle Dogs

The e2 allele is another allele of the E locus that impacts coat colour in dogs. The e2 allele causes a non-standard cream colour in Australian cattle dogs. The cause is the c.-432G>C mutation in the MC1R gene. The cream colour is carried by individuals with genotype e2/e2 and e1/e2.
