Screening for hereditary diseases and appearance traits of the horse

Screening for hereditary diseases and appearance traits is available for all breeds. There will be tested 47 markers, including causal mutations of inherited diseases, linkage mutations of inherited diseases and markers of appearance traits.

The screening panel includes markers specific for different horse breeds. Therefore, many of the results may not be specific to the horse being tested. To find out which tests are specific to your breed, visit the breed-specific page or the IPFD database.

An overview of the markers included in the screening panel can be found in the sample results report (below). If any test important for your breed is missing in the panel, it is possible to order this marker additionally - please write the request for the extra marker in the order note. The price of the analysis of the extra marker of the disease or the appearance is 15 Euro.

The laboratory guarantees at least 44 of the reported markers.
