Allele e3 in Alaskan and Siberian Husky

The e3 allele is another allele of the E locus that impacts coat colour in dogs. The e3 allele causes white colouring with a very light-yellow tinge in the Alaskan and Siberian husky. The cause is mutation c.816_817del in the MC1R gene. The white colour is carried by individuals with genotype e3/e3 and e1/e3.
